CCPA Notice for California Residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to access and obtain a copy of their personal information. You can request records of your personal information. The CCPA requires businesses to disclose:

  1. The categories of personal information collected.
  2. The sources from which personal information is collected.
  3. The business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling personal information.
  4. The categories of third parties with whom personal information is shared.
  5. Specific pieces of personal information collected.

To request this information from Aumalo, email your request to [email protected]. We will provide a list of the categories of personal information disclosed within thirty (30) days of receiving such a request. Requests can be made no more than once per calendar year. We reserve the right not to respond to requests submitted through other methods. Exceptions to fulfilling data access requests include: (a) Aumalo may not provide personal data if it cannot identify the individual due to de-identification, and (b) Aumalo may not provide data if the individual is involved in a civil or criminal proceeding with Aumalo.

Types of Information Collected

We collect personal information that can identify, relate to, describe, reference, or be linked to a specific consumer or device. Over the past twelve (12) months, we have collected the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers: such as real name, alias, postal address, online identifier, IP address, email address, etc.
  • Commercial information: including records of personal property, products or services purchased, obtained, or considered, or other purchasing or consuming histories.
  • Internet or other similar network activity: such as browsing history, search history, and information on interactions with a website, application, or advertisement.

We may use your personal information for various business purposes, including:

  • Fulfilling or meeting the reason for which the information was provided, such as delivering information, products, or services requested.
  • Sending email alerts, event registrations, and other notices about our products, services, or events.
  • Enforcing rights and obligations arising from contracts, including for billing and collections.
  • Enhancing our website and its content presentation.
  • Conducting testing, research, analysis, and product development.
  • Protecting the rights, property, or safety of Aumalo, our clients, or others.
  • Responding to law enforcement requests and complying with applicable law, court orders, or government regulations.
  • Describing to you during data collection or as otherwise set forth in the CCPA.
  • Evaluating or conducting mergers, divestitures, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other asset transfers, including during bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceedings.

Sharing Your Information

We may share your personal information with third parties for business purposes. When we disclose personal information for business purposes, we enter into agreements requiring the recipient to keep the information confidential and use it only for the specified purpose.

We may disclose your personal information to:

  • Our affiliates.
  • Service providers.
  • Third parties authorized by you or your agents in connection with our products or services.

In the past twelve (12) months, we have not sold any personal information.

Information Exclusions

Personal information does not include:

  • Publicly available information from government records.
  • De-identified or aggregated consumer information.
  • Information excluded from the CCPA's scope, such as health or medical information covered by HIPAA and CMIA or clinical trial data.
  • Information covered by certain sector-specific privacy laws, including FCRA, GLBA or California Financial Information Privacy Act, and the Driver's Privacy Protection Act of 1994.

Your CCPA Rights and Choices

The CCPA grants California residents specific rights regarding their personal information. This section outlines those rights and how to exercise them.

Access and Data Portability

You have the right to request that we disclose information about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months. Upon receiving and confirming your verifiable consumer request, we will disclose:

  • The categories of personal information collected.
  • The sources of the personal information collected.
  • The business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling the information.
  • The categories of third parties with whom we share that information.
  • The specific pieces of personal information collected (also known as a data portability request).

Deletion Rights

You have the right to request that we delete any personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and verify your request, we will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your personal information from our records unless an exception applies.

Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request regarding your personal information. You can also make a request on behalf of your minor child. Each request must provide sufficient information to verify your identity and describe the request in detail to understand it. We may not fulfill your request if we cannot verify your identity or authority.

We will respond to your verifiable consumer request within 45 days. If more time is needed (up to 90 days), we will inform you in writing. Our response will be sent to your account if you have one with us, or otherwise delivered by mail or electronically based on your preference. Our response will include information from the 12 months preceding your request. If we cannot comply, we will explain why. For data portability requests, we will provide the information in an easily usable format that can be transferred to another entity.

We do not charge a fee for processing or responding to your request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or unfounded. If a fee is necessary, we will inform you and provide a cost estimate before completing your request.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights under the CCPA. We will not deny goods or services, charge different prices or rates, provide a different level or quality of goods or services, or suggest different prices or services because you exercised your rights.

This site is a free service connecting homeowners with local service contractors. All contractors are independent, and Aumalo does not warrant or guarantee their work. It is the homeowner's responsibility to verify that the hired contractor holds the necessary license and insurance for the work being performed.
